Management Aptitude Test or MAT is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) for admissions to MBA/PGDM courses in various colleges across the country. The exam is conducted four times in a year — February, May, September and December. Candidates who qualify the exam are eligible for admissions to 800+ B-schools accepting MAT scores.

MAT is conducted in both offline (Paper Based Test or PBT) and online (Computer Based Test or CBT) modes. Candidates can choose to appear in the exam in any mode as per their preference. Fees, exam pattern and syllabus for both the modes are same while exam dates are different.

MAT exam is an objective test, designed to measure the candidate’s general aptitudes in language comprehension, mathematical skills, data analysis and sufficiency, intelligence and critical reasoning, Indian and global environment.

Candidates appearing for the exam should have completed graduation from the recognised university with the score of minimum 45 % marks (40 % for reserved categories) in the qualifying exam.

If the candidates appearing for the final year graduation exam is also eligible to apply for MAT.

A candidate must have completed 21 years of age while appearing for the exam and there is no age limit to write the exam.

Foreign nationals appearing for the MAT exam should have a valid passport in addition to a student visa.

A candidate is also required to fulfill all the qualification requirements before he/she appears for the exam.
