General Awareness:

Questions in this section will be aimed at testing the candidates’ general awareness (GK+GS) of the environment around him and its application to society. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy & Scientific Research. The questions will also be asked from Science, Current Affairs, Books and Authors, Sports, Important Schemes, Important Days, Portfolios, People in News etc.

There are 2 papers i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. Questions asked in these paper will be of Objective Multiple Choice Type. Questions asked will be in both Hindi and English language.

0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer marked by a candidate.

SSC CPO Exam will be conducted in three phases:

  • Paper-1
  • Physical Endurance Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST) and Medical Test.
  • Paper-2

 

The final merit list will be arranged on the basis of a candidate’s performance in all the three phases.

Candidate needs to fulfill 3 criteria in order to appear for SSC CPO Exam.

Educational Qualifications:

  • A candidate must have Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognised University.
  • For the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police (only) – Male candidates must possess a valid Driving License for LMV (Motor cycle and Car) as on the date fixed for Physical Endurance and Standard Tests.

Age Limit:

Age of the candidates must be from 20 to 25 years.

Nationality/ Citizenship:

A candidate must be either:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • Provided that a candidate belonging to categories 2 and 3 above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
  • A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary will be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.
  • A Tibetan Refugee came over to India before 1st Jan 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.

A person belonging to Indian Origin migrated from Countries such as Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
