What is CAT Exam ?

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is India’s most competitive MBA entrance exam conducted annually by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). CAT 2025 will be a computer-based test evaluating your Quantitative Aptitude (QA), Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) skills.

Though CAT doesn’t have a fixed syllabus, questions generally come from:

Quantitative Aptitude (QA): Arithmetic (Percentages, Ratios, Averages, Time-Speed-Distance) , Algebra (Equations, Progressions, Inequalities) , Geometry & Mensuration , Number Systems & Modern Math
Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR): Graphs, Charts, Tables, Caselets & Puzzles, Logical Arrangements
Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC): Reading Comprehension Passages, Para-jumbles, Para Summary, Grammar & Vocabulary.

How to Prepare for CAT 2025: Step-by-Step Plan

Step 1: Understand the Exam Structure : Before diving in, analyze previous years’ CAT papers to understand question trends, difficulty levels, and time management requirements.

Step 2: Create a Realistic Study Plan : Your CAT study plan should be based on how much time you have before the exam.

6–12 Month Study Plan

Months 1–3: Build conceptual clarity in all three sections.

Months 4–6: Practice advanced-level questions and topic tests.

Months 7–9: Take 15–20 mock tests; analyze and refine strategy.

Final 2 Months: Revision + mock analysis + mental preparation.
